EXTENDED DAY PROGRAM

St. Pius V Catholic School playground

St. Pius V Catholic School gymnasium

We know that many parents and caregivers have work hours that are different from school hours. St. Pius V School offers these families a warm and loving before and after school environment for their children through the Extended Day Program (EDP). All students are eligible, PreK through Grade 8.

Students in EDP are given opportunities to work on homework, have a snack, participate in story time, play in the gym, or play outside, weather permitting. Enrichment programs are also offered during EDP hours, including Chess Masters Connections, the Roger Williams Park Zoo Zoomobile, and Mad Science.

EDP is offered before school from 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM. The set fee includes a cold breakfast.

EDP is offered after school starting at 2:30 PM and runs until 5:30 PM. The hourly rate, billed in fifteen-minute increments, includes a snack and drink.

Staff consists of the director and four regular staff members, some of whom are Providence College students, as well as three alternate staff members. An average of thirty-five to forty-five students attends the program, with three to four staff scheduled to work daily.
