MUSIC

In weekly music classes at St. Pius V Catholic School, students from grades PreK through 8 become familiar with written music as they practice for participation in school Masses and explore a wide range of pieces from nursery rhymes to major works of classical music, with a special focus on the sacred works of the Church.
On a rotating basis, students from grades 2 through 8 are invited to sing from the choir loft during Holy Mass, allowing them to participate in the Sacred Liturgy in a new and meaningful way.
The Christmas concert in mid-December is a highlight of the year, with all grades performing a musical program which prepares the school community for the Christmas season.
Students with an interest in musical theater or praising the Lord through song are encouraged to join the school’s Drama Club or Gloria Domino, the praise and worship band.
