GROWING GARDENERS UPDATE
Our new garden just got greener! The students have finished planting the seedlings they have been growing for the garden in their classrooms. The seedlings include tomatoes, snap peas, peepers, parsnips, spinach. carrots, leeks, lettuce, rosemary and marigolds.
We will also be putting flowers to attract pollinators and a really cool “bug condo” which is being put together by our pre-schoolers. This will also attract beneficial insects and pollinators.
Students now have experienced planting their seeds and caring for the seedlings, putting the young plants into the vegetable beds, spacing the plants, thinning when necessary, watering and much more.
We hope that the SPV families will sign up to help care for our new garden and support our effort to have good produce to donate to Chefs Feeding Kids!
