The St. Pius V School Drama Club put on three stellar performances of Newsies Jr. over the weekend. The musical is inspired by the newspaper boys (or Newsies) strike of 1899, allowing the students to engage with history as they honed their acting, singing, and dancing.
Over 50 students from grades 5 through 8 were involved in the production. In addition to the vibrant cast, students were also involved in every other aspect of the production, such as stage manager and tech crew.
We are so proud of hard work and commitment of the students involved in Newsies Jr. Putting on a musical is no small task!
Great thanks also go to Mrs. Thibeault and Mr. Joseph, as well as Ms. Jade, Ms. Catarina, Sr. Maria Thuan, Mrs. M-J, Dr. Pfost, and all of the dedicated parents who supported our students from start to finish. God bless you!
