st pius v school csw

Monday of Catholic Schools Week commenced with a schoolwide outdoor Procession and Adoration in St. Pius V Church. Because Jesus is at the center of everything that we do, we began the first school day of Catholic Schools Week worshiping Our Lord. Students organized by Sister Maria Thuan led hymns of praise as we processed the perimeter of our parish school and church. Ending the procession at St. Pius V Church, our whole school spent time in adoration, led by our Parochial Vicar, Father Anthony VanBerkum, O.P. Reverently we listened to the Prologue of St. John’s Gospel and sang to Our Lord, with select students accompanying hymns on the piano, guitar and singing. Following Benediction, we returned to school and wrote letters to first responders in our local community, including nurses, firefighters, and police officers. We are blessed to be a Catholic school and blessed to be a part of the diocese of Providence.
