Our middle school Student Council members completed their second day of service with Mary House's Monday Meal Kitchen yesterday. These Firedogs made us very proud as they diligently and compassionately served their neighbors with love!

And a special thank you to the PSO who has organized a week full of treats for our faculty and staff, including a visit from Cafe Modesto's coffee truck today!

Yesterday our 8th graders went across the street to Providence College for a field trip through FriarServe. Along with 8th graders from other local Catholic schools, they received a campus tour, including the newly dedicated Ben Mondor Center for Nursing and Health Sciences, and learned about investment from two professors in the School of Business.

Today, to celebrate the Feast of Pope Saint Pius V, the sixth-grade students put on a play dramatizing the Battle of Lepanto. They did a wonderful job!

Members of SPV's Student Council served at Mary House's Monday Meal Kitchen yesterday. Mary House is located inside St. Patrick School on Smith Street and is a wonderful resource for the food insecure in our community.

Today we Firedogs were blessed with a visit from Fr. Gregory Pine. He talked with the 8th grade about Theology of the Body, basketball, guardian angels, jalapeño-flavored Doritos, vocations and our Vocation, and everything in between.
There is a bake sale to benefit the 8th grade this Wednesday in honor of our patron saint, Pope St. Pius V!

Today the St. Pius V School community gathered to pray the rosary for the repose of Pope Francis's soul. Fr. John reminded the students that we call the Pope our Holy Father, meaning that we are grieving a loss in our Catholic family. May Pope Francis's soul and all the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. 🙏
Happy Earth Day! A big thank you to Councilwoman Jo-Ann Ryan and Providence City Forester, Sam Daganhardt, for visiting with our Firedogs and letting us participate in the planting of a new Jefferson Elm on Elmhurst Avenue.
In the late Pope Francis's encyclical, Laudato Si, he encourages us to question, "What kind of world do we want to leave to those who come after us, to children who are now growing up?" Today our Firedogs planted a tree that will benefit generations of students to come!
